Some years ago, at an area tag sale, I discovered and purchased a hollowed-out gourd

artfully painted to resemble Santa Claus.  I named it "Santa Gourd".  I don't remember where I bought it

nor how much I paid for it. (It was probably no more than $20...my usual limit.)

 

Regardless, one of our favorite family Christmas memories occurred when my wife Diane and I added a

Santa hat to the artwork and we began filling "Santa Gourd" with gifts and unveiling it on Christmas mornings.

The entire family looked forward to removing the Santa Hat and gourd-top to unveil the presents inside.

 

One Christmas, I forgot to "load" "Santa Gourd" and we did not bring it to our family get-together.

Our grandkids, Maya and Luke, expressed their "dismay" and we will remember to bring it to our get-together

"dis-December". "Ho, Ho, Ho!"
