The focus of Cheshire’s 250th Celebration is the signing of the Declaration of Independence itself. July 4, 2026 is more than a birthday party: it is an invitation to deepen our understanding of the foundation of our country rooted in a “firm reliance upon God” and the rights endowed by our Creator: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Cheshire’s annual “Declaration Celebration” has taken place every 4th of July on the green in Cheshire for 10+ years and will move to Bartlem Park in 2026 for broader festivities.

Make plans now to join us for the celebration!

Cheshire's own Tony Falcone (our 2nd Person of Note) has created a statue to be dedicated on Break Neck Hill, Middlebury on June 27th 2026 from 1pm-3pm. Please join us there exactly 240 years after Rochambeau lead him men up the hill.
