Ron Gagliardi and his wife Diane moved to Cheshire in 1972, due to the excellent reputation of the school system. Ron is known for his accomplishments as an author, historian, museum director, and elementary art teacher.

  • Municipal Historian Emeritus: Gagliardi served as the Municipal Historian for Cheshire for many years and is a recognized local history expert.

  • Author: He has written several local history books for Arcadia Publishing's Images of America series, including Cheshire and Naugatuck Revisited. He also authored his Master's thesis, The Butterfly And Moth As Symbols In Western Art, and a book of new words titled Noah's Desktionary And Allmanack.

  • Museum Director/Curator: He is currently the director of the Raimon Beard Lock 12 Museum on the Farmington Canal in Cheshire and the founder/director of the future online Museum of Connecticut Cartoonists And Illustrators (MOCCAI). He previously served as the executive director of the Naugatuck Historical Society and Museum and as assistant director and docent at the Barker Character, Comic and Cartoon Museum.

  • Educator and Arts Advocate: Gagliardi is a retired elementary art teacher and the founder/director of MICA (Made In Connecticut Arts), an umbrella group for Connecticut "hand artists". He also served as a leader for the Hamden chapter of the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) for over 25 years.

  • Media Personality: He hosts a longtime cable television show, 30 Minutes With Ron, that is available on YouTube. ​
