Many famous people have visited Cheshire, like President John F. Kennedy, President Ford, possibly both Presidents Bush.  Sometimes residents of Cheshire have even participated in history, like former resident Barney Barnum who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during the Viet Nam War.  And then there were events where Cheshire residents set into motion historical events.  One such example is the notorious arrest of Jim Morrison, lead singer of “The Doors”, during their concert at the New Haven Coliseum on December 9, 1967.  In this case, current Cheshire resident Mike Santillo was the person who initiated the debacle.
