Cheshire Grange Fair 2026

Did you know that 2026 was the 141st year that the Cheshire Grange has sponsored

a fair on their property on Wallingford Road?  Well, now you know.

It was held in August, on Friday and Saturday, the 22 and 23, with very cooperative

weather after months of planning with a committee composed of a core group of

Grange members led, for the umpteenth year (two decades) by Grange president

Ruel Miller, ably assisted by his wife, Jane and a small "Gang of Grangers".

The Fair featured the obligatory contests: needlework and sewing, baking and canning, art, crafts and collections, photography and flowers fruit, vegetables and eggs. Some of the contests were open to youths, some displayed in the Youth Building.

The dog obedience contest and judging was conducted by John Jalbert on Sunday, followed by a delicious roast beef dinner, prepared and served by a staff led by Jane Miller.

Granny's Attic Sale was open to the visitors, supervised by Maryalyce Lee and Karen Turner.

Diane Calabro was the peripatetic, all-around helper.

This year's Grange Community Citizen and Best of Show was Ron Kochman. (He is also the co-editor of this on-line magazine, but that had nothing to with his award.)
